Week of 12/18

It's the final week before Christmas. The kids have camps from 9-3 PM every day through Thursday. It's a relief not having to match their schedules with my schedule and John's schedule. Any day where I have the kids all day is a day without a to-do list, I've decided. Keeping up with them and the daily stuff is enough!

Monday:
  • Errand: make bank deposits for Girl Scouts
  • Inside day -- upper level (cars' interior, entryway, stairs)
  • Christmas task: open delivery boxes & wrap
Tuesday:
  • Errand: grocery store or Target
  • Outside day -- front walks
Wednesday:
  • Errand: Gifts (Capezio ballet, toy store)
  • Inside day -- level 2 (office, bedroom, bathroom)
  • Christmas task - wrap final gifts
Thursday:
  • Errand: Costco
  • Outside day -- side yards
Friday:
  • Pageant rehearsal (10 AM)
  • Grocery shopping

Daily items -- 15 minutes each:
  • get mail and pay bills
  • girl scout stuff
  • kids home studies - reading, writing, math
  • pick up clutter
  • complete 1 load of laundry
  • water plants or take out trash & recycling

Triathlons and Kids

I love training for the sprint-distance tris, but I have to admit... there's just not enough time with the kids and the baby. I would hate to risk getting sick or injured to complete in a non-necessary event. But I will keep up the exercise. I love riding my bicycle and hope to get out on it today, after 2 weeks of rain. I've been swimming, even in the rain(!), 35 minutes and 1200 yards last weekend, then 30 minutes and 1050 yards this weekend.

Yoga is still working for me, but I have a pulled muscle in my upper back, so it's a little tough to do all of the poses right now. Baby Boot Camp is still the best combination strength & cardio exercise I've found. So now, my routine looks something like this: Run (Mon), BBC (Tues), Yoga (Wed), BBC (Thurs), Run or Hike (Fri), Swim (Sat), Bike (Sun).

Class Canceled!

It started raining today as soon as boot camp was scheduled to begin, so class was canceled. The rain didn't last long, though, and I had stuck it out anyway because the baby had fallen asleep on my warm up run. So, after running a mile, I went on a second loop, stopping every so often to do push-ups, tricep dips, and lunges or squats. I ended up doing a total of 100 of each, plus did my 100 crunches at home, broken up by 4 1-minute plank holds. I also ran an extra lap, making my mileage 3+ miles for the day.
